WELCOME TO FOXROCK

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

The Neighbourhood Watch Scheme, led by Jeannette Mee, provides an important service for the area. By sharing valuable advice provided by An Garda Siochána and communicating important messages updating residents on current security issues, residents are fully informed and reminded to be vigilant. Please report anything suspicious to Cabinteely Garda Station immediately on 01-6665400.

To register with the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in order to receive information and updates, simply email jeannettemee@gmail.com and provide your name, full address and contact information.

INFORMATION EVENINGS

FACE hosts an Information Evening in Foxrock Golf Club for residents and business owners approximately every eighteen months. The aim of the event is to provide information on areas of interest to the community including planning and security in addition to facilitating a forum for residents to raise issues for consideration by FACE.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Foxrock Community Games Committee reconvened in 2015, after a five year period without representation and has worked tirelessly every year since to encourage children between the ages of 6 and 16 to enter an ever growing number of events. In addition to swimming and athletics, participants now enter chess, art and model making. FACE is delighted to support the committee and help promote awareness to families in the area.

If you would like more information, please email foxrock@communitygames.info

SAMUEL BECKETT

The naming of the village green after Samuel Beckett in 2014, following its refurbishment and installation of two granite benches engraved with the name of two of the playwright’s best-known plays ‘Waiting for Godot’ and ‘Come and Go’, led to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council including a series of Foxrock Beckett Country Walks in its Summer Heritage Programme every year since.

Tullow Parish has organised a series of Beckett plays and anthologies in the church including:

  • Beckett in Foxrock in March 2016
  • The End in March 2017
  • First Love in March 2018
  • All That Fall in March 2019

LAUNCH OF NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH:
Neighbourhood Watch (NW) was formally launched at a public meeting for residents on 20th June 2013. It was introduced on roads where there was a strong level of interest and support registered together with an individual willing to act as a Area Road Co-ordinator.

COMMUNICATION:

Facefoxrock@gmail.com or jeannettemee@gmail.com are the email addresses set up to facilitate communication regarding security recommendations, security issues and burgláries in the area.  A texting service via mobile phone mobile will, hopefully, be set up over the next few months on each road.

INFORMATION:
Information regarding the operation of Neighbourhood Watch can be found on www.garda.ie. Neighbourhood Watch works on the basis that each member of the community can help to improve the quality of life in the area by being security aware, keeping a look-out for neighbours and reporting suspicious activity to an Garda Siochána. The flow of information is crucial for its success in making our environment a safer place. In addition, please Click Here to ensure you are taking the necessary precautions to protect you and your home.

BURGLÁRIES:
In the event of a break in, immediately contact An Garda Siochána on telephone: 6665400 or 999 and then, if possible, text your Area Road Co-Ordinator with details who will text information of the incident to other residents on your road.

TO JOIN NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH:

Internal communication to and between residents is also important for Neighbourhood Watch to operate effectively therefore a high level of community interest and involvement benefits everyone.  Accordingly, we would ask those who have not registered to do so at their earliest convenience. The aim is to have all roads signed up by the end of the year so we would encourage you to join.

Please email your name, full address, email and contact phone number to facefoxrock@gmail.com or jeannettemee@gmail.com.  Alternatively, please post this information to Jeannette Mee, Evesham, Westminster Road, Foxrock, Dublin 18.

Crime Prevention Information Sheet
Burglars like easy opportunities. If they have to make a lot of noise, spend a lot of time or risk being seen, the chances are they won’t bother. A good rule of thumb is the 3 minute delay test. If you can deny entry for 3 minutes or more – chances are the burglars will go elsewhere.
